Is chain punching the best when it comes to street fighting?

I've been practicing shotokan karate all my life and i've never practiced another, i've been reading about wing chun for a while now and i would like to get an answer to the following question from an experienced person:

When it comes to street fighting is Wing Chun and it's chain punching and defence techniques the best or atleast better than shotokan karate?

Note: Answers that are as simple as "It's not about the style it's about the person" are NOT welcome! That is NOT the answer that am looking for.

Is chain punching the best when it comes to street fighting?
would you rather hit someone with a punch that has a lot of force or multiple punches that don't have much force at all?

critics of chain punching say that it lacks the power of a regular punch because it focuses on speed at such a short distance rather than proper power generation leading to a "tip tap" look.

From what I know of shotokahn is that it is not very applicable to fighting and it focuses more on forms.
Reply:Well, I don't know how much you can rely on my answer, because I've never studied any martial arts, but I think that maybe, just maybe, you should always keep up a guard. Chain punching might work if you've got a large enough opening though.
Reply:It is simply another option
Reply:I know that the guys at straight blast make a good style out of overwhelming people. If you just keep coming and slamming your fist into their face, the only real option is to cover up and or get a lucky punch in.
Reply:A street fight victory goes to the survivor. The one who beats the other strikes first and hard most of the time. This can be a sucker punch, haymaker, or some gross body movement strike. The one who hits first tries to continue. Is chain punching good? Throwing combinations, shaking off what you are getting helps a bit and being prepared for different ranges is key. I've heard the critics about the lack of power, that is minor, in a rage, a person can sometimes shake off a powerful hit, being overwhelmed, different story.
Reply:I'd stay away from Wing Chun. In fight you don't want to do love slapping, you want to punches them hard and forcefully. Also kicks, knees, and elbows is very helpful and so is ground fighting. If they can't fight on ground, they're basically like they're a poor swimmer and you're the shark.
Reply:Yes, I find wrapping my fist in a chain and punching people to be highly effective.
Reply:Actually they both are good arts, wing chun does have a better punching dynamic though. On that note though karate has stronger blocks.
