How does wing chun rate as a martial art for effectiveness and practicality?

not my cup of tea but each to his own.it's like anything else you need to crosstrain in other styles.use the good bits lose the bad bits.

How does wing chun rate as a martial art for effectiveness and practicality?
Bruce Lee was a wing chun stylist.

He later learnt other skills as he developed his own way.

Very fast hand work, strong stand up close fighting skills.

Lacks the needed ground work as do many Chinese systems.

Developed by a Nun in China from Chuan Fa.
Reply:Wing chun, is a art that has been around for a long while, made popular by Bruce Lee, i have trained a little with people who have studied it, and it seems affective, but i would not rate it better than any other art, they all can be affective with much practice.
Reply:Its a decent style.
Reply:i hear its pretty good and I've fought some wing chun practitioners and they were pretty good up close
Reply:It's as effective as ****** slapping.
