In a stadard wing chun punch which muscles are used?

what I mean is a chain punch elbow to chest and thrust forward simple as that im guessing shoulder and tricep thinking of bruces one inch punch.

In a stadard wing chun punch which muscles are used?
yes the tricep is the primary muscle for punching in wing chun. the tricep muscle extents while the bicep contracts.

here's a great vid on wing chun.

Reply:In correctly applied wing chun straight fist you should use every muscle in your body. There is both an extention and retraction to the strike and the force is genertated from the legs through the body and into the arm much the same as a boxing cross punch just applied in a different way.

I could bore you with the exact mechanics of the punch from my thesis but I'm sure that you don't need that much info.
Reply:Tricep, wrist muscles when you "snap" and most importantly your Hip muscles, which are big and heavy. Involved, they are quite powerful... uninvolved you have "arm punches" which are very weak.
