I was wondering if anyone knows of any good websites, books or even dvd's which i can learn to improve any of the following:-
footwork
balance
co-ordination
and 'Basic' wing chun
Thanks :)
Books or websites for good footwork, balance, co-ordination, or wing chun basics???
Oddly enough I recommend Utube there is lots of stuff on there some rubbish some you could learn from, just like the rest of Martial Arts some people only want to show off and some are really good instructors such is the nature of the arts

My opinion is to look for some books and videos which are the best in their category in Wing Chun (footwork,balance,co-ordinatio... nice solution is as someone talked about YouTube.
A useful site that i found with many videos and information is http://www.wing-chun.ws Report It
Reply:Hi there
Not sure where you would be able to get hold of these items but here goes.
For Wing Chun try the book Wing Chun By Yip Chin who is one of the sons of Yipman. A great book which covers all the basics and some of the early forms. Try amazon. Another great DVD/Video is Wing Chun by Samual Kwok. This covers all the hand forms, Dummy drills and the large forms. It also has some footage of yipman. Try The British wing chun association based in Blackpool i think or BudoVideos.com.
As for Footwork, balance etc a book that everyone should own is titled 'the principles of effortless power'. Again try amazon.
Hope this helps

Reply:bok nam park came out with "fundamentals of pa kua chang" a while ago and it has some of the best most practical footwork stuff i've ever seen.
Reply:amazon is good ,very comprehensive selection.no substitute for training with a good quality Sifu and his students.
Reply:okay, i never trained in wing chun, so i'm not sure if this is too good. But "The Wing Chun Compendium" seemed like a really good book. here's a link, http://www.amazon.com/Wing-Chun-Compendi...
check out the reviews, before buying it i guess.
p.s. there was pressure point section in the back of the book that seemed very good. even better than some books totally dedicated to the pressure point attacks.
Reply:There are many sites out there for these exact things you ask. But are there good ones?
if you are interested in Wing Chun read about it. Study its origins and then ask some local Kwoons or schools if you may come to see a class. If you find that it interests you, ask them, they just may let you join.
