im 19, i want to master wing chun and jeet kune do...
How long would it take to master wing chun..?
I'll tell you what I was told when I was 12 and asked my teacher:
50 years.
See, you are looking at it from entirely the wrong perspective. It is not the end result but getting there. Even after 50 years, if asked if you had it all down, your answer would be "no."
Just find a good teacher, train, and take it day by day. If you do that, I promise that you will be interesting within 3 years.
Reply:i'm guessing you like bruce lee?
in an interview, bruce lee said he wouldn't call himself a master. he said he calls himself a student master because you can never know everything about a martial art.

Reply:Calling yourself a master means you have nothing left to learn...Always continue to learn. I think if you want to be mma fighter then stick to an MMA specific school..One that Works on Grappling, Kick Boxing and Boxing..Wing Chun might be too traditional for you and you'll lose interest. You might try a hybrid system such *** Jeet kun do or Kajukenbo (both based on a real world situation system(street)
The best thing to do is visit a few different schools. See how they look(dont be impressed by trophies, or sales pitches). Martial arts takes dedication, so you need to research to make the best choice, because you will be dedicating time there.
You are never too old or too young to train in martial arts...Always something to learn.
Reply:Different lengths for different people. Work on perfecting your techniques. Wing Chun is an excellent first style for MMA. Master Wing Chun and stay with it even after you suppliment it with a ground style. I'd suppliment it with wrestling, Judo or Jujitsu. 2 styles is enough. Be the best Wing Chun master you can be, and understand the ground game. You'll be successful. Jumping from style to style will only stunt your growth.
Reply:u shoul mabe mmake your own martial arts thats what i'm doing
